Volunteer days Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays from 24 September to 24 October - or by appointment outside those times if possible.
Help us to restore “Jenny”, our Traditional Coble Boat, to all her former glory.
We will be using power tools, as well as hand tools, and hand sanding. Masks will be provided where necessary and volunteers should wear appropriate protective clothing.
We will remove all the rot, fill areas (using epoxy resin), sand back the exterior and interior of the boat and paint.
We will remove all ferrous hardware (which has rusted)
We will also provide a usable ‘floor’ area in the base of the boat made of solid timber planking (not ply as this will delaminate).
We will also provide a protective covering/tarpaulin (suspended via a central ridge pole) for the boat to protect from the elements.
Traditional colour scheme: White exterior, with coloured trim (blue) with black bitumen paint below the water line. Grey interior.
If you would like to help, and for further details, please contact us so we know how many volunteers are available.
